# RelayWatch Terms of Service
**Last Updated:** September 19, 2026
Welcome to RelayWatch. By accessing or using our services, dashboard, API endpoints, or ingest endpoints (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
---
### 1. Description of Service
RelayWatch provides hybrid endpoint monitoring, active health verification, and alert dispatching notifications. The Service allows users to send heartbeat check-ins ("pings") and monitor the availability and response status of specified upstream HTTP targets.
### 2. "Best Effort" Service & Availability
RelayWatch is provided strictly on an **"AS IS"** and **"AS AVAILABLE"** basis.
* **No Guaranteed Uptime:** While we endeavor to maintain high availability and accurate tracking, RelayWatch operates as a **best-effort service**. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, 100% uptime, or zero monitoring downtime.
* **No Guaranteed Alert Delivery:** Notification delivery depends on external routing and third-party infrastructure. We do not guarantee that every failure or recovery event will trigger an instant or successful notification.
### 3. External Factors & Third-Party Dependencies
RelayWatch relies on global internet infrastructure and external APIs to function. You acknowledge and agree that RelayWatch is **not responsible or liable** for missed, delayed, or misrouted alerts, false positives, or false negatives caused by factors outside our direct control, including but not limited to:
* Network congestion, ISP outages, routing errors, or DNS failures.
* Third-party delivery failure, rate-limiting, or downtime (e.g., Slack webhooks, email providers, `ntfy` servers, or custom user webhooks).
* Downtime, firewalls, cloud provider blocks, or unexpected behaviors of your monitored upstream servers.
### 4. Critical Systems Disclaimer
RelayWatch is intended for informational and operational monitoring support. **It is not designed, rated, or intended for use in high-risk environments, mission-critical systems, life-support applications, or emergency operations.** You agree not to rely solely on RelayWatch for systems where a missed alert or service interruption could lead to physical harm, critical financial loss, or personal injury.
### 5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, RelayWatch, its owners, operators, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages—including loss of profits, data, revenue, or business disruption—arising out of or related to:
* Your use of or inability to use the Service.
* Any missed alerts, delayed notifications, or incorrect status reports.
* Unintended service interruptions, data corruption, or security breaches beyond reasonable control.
### 6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use RelayWatch to:
* Send automated checks against servers or endpoints you do not own or do not have explicit authorization to monitor.
* Abuse, overload, or perform denial-of-service (DoS) attacks against the ingest pipeline or external targets.
* Transmit malicious code, spam, or unlawful payloads through webhook integrations.
### 7. Service Modifications & Termination
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any portion of the Service (or limit features based on subscription tier) at any time. We also reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these terms or consume excessive infrastructure resources beyond reasonable limits.
### 8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the Service after any updates constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
